Professor of CU-block named (PA) (Yahoo!) NASA science Chief

BOULDER, Colorado – member of the Faculty of the University of Colorado-Boulder Waleed Abdalati was chosen as the NASA Chief Scientist.

Geography professor associated with 46 years of age will begin the mandate of two years in January.

Abdalati leads the observation of the Earth Institute of cooperation for research in environmental studies, a company of the University and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration sciences centre. Her research focuses on understanding changes in Earth's ice cover.

Abdalati will be Chief Advisor to the administrator of NASA Charles Bolden on science of the organism, investment planning and science programs. It will work in the White House Office of management and budget and Congress.

Abdalati has previously worked at NASA for 10 years.
